Then in the evening, jaylake and I met up with Scott and several of his local friends for dinner before his reading at Powell's. Dinner was awesome, the reading was double-awesome, and finding our lost car keys back at the restaurant at the end of the evening was triple-awesome.
I bought a copy of the book, which I am totally looking forward to reading again, as (from what Scott tells me and from the chapters he read) he clearly listened to his very wise critique group and made changes we asked for. And! We're all named on the acknowledgments page! I love that.
In other news: 2,500 more words on Hobgoblin, for a total of just over 5K--well ahead of pace for NaNo, but that's fine, as there will certainly be days I cannot write this month. I'm nearing the end of chapter 1; all is going well.
And the 6:30 a.m. alarm experiment is yielding cautiously optimistic results. I slept short last night (maybe 5 hours) but it was very solid, deep sleep. And I'm already sleepy now, at 10 p.m., which is HUGE.
So, with that, I'm going to bed. :-)
